Fred developed a passion for natural history at a young age. Over time, he built more than 30 years of fossil hunting experience along the East Coast.
Throughout his career, he discovered and collected hundreds of fossils. He later donated rare finds from his expeditions to the New Jersey State Museum and the Florida Museum of Natural History.
Today, he collaborates with both amateur and professional paleontologists. His knowledge, energy, and passion make every tour engaging and memorable.
He has been involved in delivering fossil programs, coordinating fossil expeditions and has been a subject matter expert for fossil exhibits for over 15 years.
Prior to starting Paleo Discoveries™ Fred owned and managed a very successful landscaping business in northern New Jersey for over 20 years. His easy-going nature and sense of humor has served him well through the years in keeping an extremely satisfied base of customers. That experience has translated well into creating satisfying experiences for fellow fossil enthusiasts. Fred is married and lives with his wife and daughter in Vero Beach, Florida.
Fred founded Paleo Discoveries in 2004 to combine his passion for the outdoors with his deep knowledge of natural history. From the beginning, his goal was simple: help others experience the excitement of discovering the history of our planet in a fun and interactive way. Over time, he focused on building meaningful, hands-on fossil experiences for families, collectors, and outdoor enthusiasts.
The entire East Coast offers rich fossil deposits. However, Florida stands out for both quality and abundance. For that reason, Fred chose Florida as the home base for Paleo Discoveries. In addition, Florida’s warm climate allows for year-round fossil hunting opportunities. As a result, both beginners and experienced collectors can enjoy guided adventures in some of the most productive fossil locations in the Southeast. Today, Paleo Discoveries continues to share that original vision through educational tours, field trips, and interactive fossil programs.
